The 11th edition of the’Youth and Mobility’ Contest is now closed
As every year, students from High School, Intermediate Training Cycles schools and institutes, members of youth or leisure centres from all over Catalonia participated in the “Youth and Mobility” competition, organised by the REAL AUTOMÓVIL CLUB DE CATALUÑA (RACC) with the collaboration of the Catalan Transit Service.
Through a graphic advertisement, an opinion article or a video-story, 1.698 young participants gave their views on the theme of this 11th edition: “Road safety and coexistence between different ways of moving around: car, motorcycle, bicycle, pedestrians”.
Sustainable and responsible mobility, coexistence and road safety: these are the topics covered in the 772 works, presented between 11 December 2017 and 27 April 2018. The jury delivered its verdict on May 22nd, when the 2 finalists of each category were announced. The communication was done through the tutors of the groups, the contest website and the social networks. On Wednesday 13 June, the awards ceremony for the winners of the competition took place at the RACC headquarters in Barcelona. Josep Mateu, president of the RACC Foundation, opened the event by highlighting the participation data and the quality of all the works received, which were awarded not only for their presentation, but also for their originality and creativity. The winning groups took a GO-PRO camera and the winning class a one-night stay at PortAventura World.
In its eleven-year history, the “Youth and Mobility” competition has attracted some 15.000 participants, who have submitted more than 10.000 works.
