The “Festival de la Infancia de Barcelona” (Barcelona Children’s Festival), born in the sixties, a classic Barcelona Christmas party classic, has renewed its contents and is now called the Ciutat dels Somnis. The show has been held on 27,28,29 and 30 December 2017 at the Fira Montjuïc fairgrounds and has essentially the same personality – to guide children in their professional destiny through leisure time – but with more awareness of sustainability, with a greater impact on environmental values and proximity, and above all with a more pedagogical approach, which is the main added value that the mayoress Ada Colau grants it during her first visit to the show.
The children between the ages of 4 and 12 enjoyed a hundred games and didactic proposals to try out different trades and professions – from footballer to chef, waiter, scientist, electrician or television presenter – and discover what they want to be when they grow up.
The explosion of creativity was a constant throughout the stands; the architecture section was also very successful; food, as always, took a prominent place; in addition, throughout the salon there were several activities focused on getting to know the city, its trades and the respect they deserve.
From DUNA we participate in the salon with Mou-te bé!, an activity framed within the educational program of the RACC Foundation. Within the reproduction of a peaceful urban space, participants were able to make different journeys in various means of transport: on foot, by bicycle, electric bicycle, scooter, skateboard and electric platforms, thus practicing respectful coexistence between different means of transport in urban spaces and learning the traffic signs and the main rules, to promote a change in attitudes, values and behaviours. They also played the role of sustainable mobility engineers and technicians in education for mobility and mobility security.
