We are very proud to have completed the Introductions to Educational Robotics cycle of this school year 2017-2018. From February to June, more than 60 schools in Barcelona, Tarragona, Lleida and Girona have been able to enjoy this initiative, promoted by DUNA in collaboration with RO-BOTICA and aimed at teachers in the second cycle of Pre-school (p3-p5) and First cycle of primary school (1r-2n) interested in introducing educational robotics as a working methodology to the Pre-school and Primary School classrooms.
The educators have introduced the parts, the programming and the operation of the most used robots nowadays: Bee-Bot and Blue-Bot, Albert School and Albert UO, Cubetto, Robotis Play PETS’s 600 and Osmo.
These trainings had multiple objectives: to make the existing digital educational robotics tools known and relate them to each of the robots, to identify the basic parts that every robot has (on/off button, loading port), to recognize complex elements that some robots may have (proximity sensor, optical sensor, acceleration sensor), to know the different ways of programming each robot, to put into practice the knowledge obtained after the explanation and exemplification of the operation of each robot and to choose which programming tool is best for the age.
We hope that the free introduction to educational robotics has provided all participants with new knowledge and has been an enriching experience!
